MCN Collagen Induction Therapy utilizes fine needles that create hundreds of tiny puncture wounds into the upper layer of your skin. These wounds are micro-injuries that are created to stimulate the body’s innate wound healing process. As the skin starts to heal it promotes collagen and elastin production. This new collagen fills in the wounded tissue, thereby thickening the skin removing fine lines and wrinkles and improving acne scarring.
MCN RF is an FDA approved treatment that combines two proven nonsurgical procedures that can tighten skin, improve skin tone and texture, treat acne scarring, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. As with MCN Collagen Induction Therapy, this also utilizes fine needles which penetrate the upper layer of skin as well as the deeper dermis. Radiofrequency is delivered into the tissue via the needles, which heats the dermis and facilitates natural wound healing. A multitude of platelets and growth factors are released to help remodel collagen and elastin which tightens the skin. Over a series of treatments, skin becomes smoother and firmer and because you are forming your own collagen it will last longer. Because this treatment targets deep skin layers, the surface of the skin is not harmed, making this a safe treatment for patients of all skin colors.
PRP comes from our own blood. It is highly concentrated platelets that are obtained from spinning down our own blood. As platelets are organized in the clot, they release several different growth factors and other cytokines to promote healing. They can also attract stem cells to repair the damaged or injured tissue which aids in remodeling the skin to a healthier younger state.
The addition of PRP to any of our microneedling treatments helps accelerate healing and helps rejuvenate your skin. PRP is our own “Fountain of Youth” which when applied to any area of our body will accelerate healing, improve inflammation, produce collagen and elastin, form new blood vessels, turning back the hands of time!

Before your treatment we will apply a topical numbing agent – BLT Benzocaine Lidocaine Tetracaine in concentrations only used in a medical office. You will numb for about 40-50 minutes. Once the numbing cream has been thoroughly washed then your treatment will begin. Our goal at Women’s Choice Aesthetics is to make this fabulous treatment as pain free as possible!
Once you are adequately numbed the treatment takes about 40-50 minutes.
Immediately after the treatment there maybe some pinpoint bleeding and swelling. Bruising may also occur but this is uncommon. You should go home after the treatment as you will not be able to apply sunblock right after treatment.
The number of treatments will vary depending on what kind of results you would like to achieve and how well your skin responds to treatment. After the first treatment you will see a difference in your skin texture and tone. We recommend at LEAST three treatments, and depending on severity of wrinkles or scarring about 4-6. An assessment of your skin and progress is made at every visit. Treatments are done every 4 weeks for optimal results.
Absolutely! Here at Women’s Choice Aesthetics we use procedures such as dermal fillers, Dysport/Botox or laser skin resurfacing to compliment the results of your microneedling. If you develop your own collagen and elastin then you may need less filler; if your skin looks radiant and healthy then using Dysport or Botox can improve your skin’s appearance. For some patients, the results of microneedling are all they need!!
