The Alexandrite 755 wavelength targets the hair shaft and the Bulge of the hair follicle . It is very effective for superficially embedded hair found in areas such as the upper lip or the eyebrows and glabella. It offers more powerful energy absorption by the melanin chromophore making it very ideal for all hair types, especially thin and light colored hair.
The 810 wavelength offers deeper penetration of the hair follicle with a high repetition rate for faster treatment. The 810 has a moderate melanin absorption level making it very safe for darker skin types. The deeper penetration targets the Bulge and the Bulb of the hair follicle. The tissue depth makes it ideal for treating arms, legs, cheeks and beard.
The YAG 1064 wavelength has lower melanin absorption making it a focused solution for darker skin types and for those who are tanned. The 1064 offers the deepest penetration of the hair follicle, targeting the Bulb, the Papilla , as well as treating the deeply embedded hair follicles such as those found on the scalp, arm pits and pubic areas. Because of it’s higher water absorption, it generates higher temperatures thereby increasing the thermal profile of the entire laser treatment with the overall result being a more highly effective hair removal treatment.
